I left my coffee on the counter, again.

The other morning I was rushing out the door to go to work, and as I reached for my keys in pocketbook, I spilled a little of the coffee I was holding on the carpet. So, I went back in to the kitchen, grabbed the sponge and left my coffee on the counter, cleaned up the mess, put the sponge back in its place, and then walked out the door, without my coffee in hand.
It amazes me how many times I’ve done this before. It’s probably because I haven’t had my morning coffee yet.
As I boarded the subway I remembered it, and thought to myself, “Ugh, it’s going to be one of those days, isn’t it?”
When I returned home my coffee was there waiting for me. I was about to dump it down the drain like I usually do, but I changed my mind this time. It was a good quality coffee, and I didn’t want to waste yet another cup, and it hadn’t soured since I only added cane sugar to it, not dairy. So, I decided to put it in the refrigerator and see if it was drinkable the next morning.
It was, and since it’s the summer still, the cold coffee now gave a refreshing start to my new day.
So the day before ended up not being “one of those days” after all.
How have you corrected a food or beverage mistake and turned it in to a re-solution?
