Foods to conquer fear

When we look for new ways to help ourselves, we often get answers in unusual places. Like for instance, did you know that you can use foods to conquer fear? In fact, some of the foods you eat and take in supplements can help to ease fear, anxiety and depression. Take a look at some easy ways to help to positively influence your emotions and make sure to check with your doctor before starting any new supplement.

Schizandra Berry
This amazing berry has been used for sleep disorders, liver disorders, mood disorders/depression, sexual dysfunction, and to increase energy.  Schizandra is known to help boost the body’s resistance to fatigue, anxiety, illness, and mood swings. In fact, Dr. Oz has touted Schizandra for its healing benefits. You can find Schizandra in supplement form.

Apple Cider Vinegar
Apple Cider Vinegar helps balance alkaline levels in the body. Western diets are often more acid than alkaline…and changing the alkaline level can help to positively affect how we feel.  In fact, a study from the laboratory of John Wemmie at the University of Iowa found that recurring panic attacks may be linked to a problem with acidity at key junctures in the brain. If you find yourself eating out a few times a week, try making Apple Cider Vinegar your new best friend. After eating heavy restaurant food that is too much on the acidic side—or just something that didn’t quite agree with you—put two tablespoons of Unfiltered Organic Apple Cider Vinegar in a large glass of water and sip it very slowly. Don’t be surprised if by the time you are finished your tummy ache is completely gone and you are in a better mood.

Licorice Root
Research indicates that the Glycyrrhizic acid found in licorice root can help ward off common nervousness, fear and depression by giving our adrenal glands a boost. Our adrenal glands are often forgotten, but they are very important as they help to control the stress hormone cortisol. When our stress hormone levels are out-of-wack it can negatively influence how we feel. Another great thing about Licorice Root is that it contains Asparagine amino acid to help balance the body’s nervous system. You can find Licorice Root as a tincture, or you can purchase the actual root and nibble on it during the day.
